Waxcetera Brings Beauty and the Personal Touch to Downtown Cranford

Yesterday Downtown Cranford held a ribbon cutting for WaxCetera at 25 North Avenue, a beauty business owned by Jennifer McElroy. WaxCetera specializes in brow artistry, waxing, customized facials, and lash lifts. Jennifer has 20 years of experience as a professional aesthetician and her main passion is waxing, skincare, and brows.

Jennifer had previously worked at a larger salon but missed being able to provide a personal touch. “I always had the dream of opening my own business,” said Jennifer. “I had been looking for a space and one of my clients put me in touch with someone who had an available space. I’ve been able to make this space my own and provide a welcoming, private, and cozy environment for my clients.”

Prospective clients can visit thewaxcetera.com to view the services WaxCetera offers and to book appointments. Currently Jennifer is booking appointments Wednesday through Saturday, and often offers later appointment times on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Jennifer is familiar with Cranford and many of her clients are from this area. “Cranford has such a wonderful vibe,” said Jennifer. “I’ve found everyone here so supportive. Glow Ink Opens on North Union Avenue

Earlier today the Downtown Cranford office held a ribbon cutting for Glow Ink, a permanent makeup business located at 18 North Union Avenue. Glow Ink is owned by Maria Barzallo, who also owns Glow Beauty Bar of Cranford at 15 North Union Avenue.

Maria opened Glow Beauty Bar of Cranford in August 2019 and last year she made the decision to expand by opening Glow Ink. “Our clients were asking for permanent makeup, so we’re happy to offer those options at Glow Ink,” said Maria. “Glow Ink is a luxury permanent cosmetics/tattooing and piercing shop. We offer microblading, lip blushing, eyeliner, and any tattoos and piercings fit for our clientele.”

Since she first become a business owner here, Maria has loved Cranford. “When I began my business in Cranford I knew it was a perfect fit. We have built great relationships here and can’t wait to share our new services.”

Maria loves being a business owner, and is eager to welcome clients to Glow Ink. “What I love about being a business owner is the amazing people I get to surround myself with every day. My biggest accomplishment is the incredible team I've built over the years. It's a group of the most talented individuals and I'm lucky to learn from them every day. The beauty industry has always been something I've been involved in and I'm happy to be a part of it.”
