Culinary Assistants set up the class, assist and support the chef instructor. Requirements:

• Experience in culinary or service, in the hospitality field. (A degree or certification is not required, but helpful.)
• You have excellent time management skills.
• You are adept in the kitchen and are familiar with culinary terms, ingredients, units of measurements and understand scaling.
• You are particular about organization and cleanliness.
• You are methodical and deliberate in your movements.
• Though we run in a recreational cooking class setting, we follow the concept of chef instructor is “chef.” You should be able to acknowledge his or her role and the responsibilities you are tasked to do and be able to lend the support.
• You have a great sense of service and hospitality and interact with the guests appropriately.
• You have flexibility in your schedule. You may work as little as 1, or up to 4 classes a week, dependent on the class schedules and event bookings. Evening and weekend availability is a must.
• Classes run 2.5 – 3 hours maximum.  Classes run (evening) 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Classes are usually in the evening and on weekends. You will be required to come at least 1.5 -2 hours before to set up the classroom and ingredients and another 1.5-2 hours to break down class and tidy up after class for an average of 6 hours. *We also host corporate events in the weekdays in these events, times  may vary, usually 6 hours total per event.
• Physical stamina to be able to be on your feet for up to 6 hours straight and lift up to 30 pounds.

Pay is $18 – $20/hour  + tips.  Tips can range between $20- $150 (for special events).
