Jesse Hynes always knew he wanted to be a lawyer. He grew up in Cranford and worked at Atria Assisted Living when he was in high school. “While I was at Atria, I became passionate about enriching the lives of the elderly,” said Jesse. He attended Wake Forest School of Law, specifically because of its renowned Elder Law Clinic. “Practicing in Elder Law allows me to combine my passion for assisting the elderly population with my love for puzzles,” said Jesse. “In this instance, figuring out how to preserve assets and qualify clients for public services.” In 2017, Jesse opened his own firm, Hynes Elder Law Group.
The specialty of Elder Law encompasses simple and complex estate planning (Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, Wills, Trusts, etc.), Estate Administration, Special Needs Trusts, Guardianships, Medicaid and Asset Preservation planning. Jesse spends much of his time consulting with clients (though it’s mainly done virtually these days).
Jesse was born and raised in Cranford and has a great affection for the community. “When I made the decision to open my own firm, I couldn’t think of a better place than the town that I know and love. Cranford will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Jesse’s firm originally opened on South Avenue in Cranford, and then last year moved to 109 Miln Street. “I like being in downtown Cranford because it’s an evolving and exciting space. It’s changed a lot since when I was growing up here. It’s been amazing to watch Cranford emerge as one of the best (if not the best) downtowns in NJ. Being able to leave my office and meet clients at Track 5 or Kilkenny House is unique to Cranford, and a definite benefit to being a part of the Downtown Cranford business community.”
Thank you to Jesse for his continued investment in Cranford! All of the businesses that make up Downtown, from retail to restaurants to services and more, help make this community what it is.
