We’re thrilled to unveil the latest piece of artwork in Downtown Cranford – a utility box wrap with local pets drawn by Ali of Lost & Found Tattoo Studio! The wrap was a collaboration between Downtown Cranford, Lost & Found Tattoo Studio, and Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Cranford-Westfield. You can find it on display at Volunteer Plaza, across from the clock, which was also recently given a makeover with new plants and landscaping to make it more welcoming to visitors.

Downtown Cranford spoke with Ali about her love of dogs and how that inspired her artwork for the utility box wrap. “Our girl, Dotty was rescued from Mississippi thanks to Cranford’s own American Lab Rescue,” said Ali. “She and another pup were being fostered right around the corner from us. She brings so much joy to our lives every single day. I believe that pets are so important for our well-being and quality of life. She is always happy to see her foster mom, Laurie, when we run into her around town. She and American Lab rescue have found homes for many dogs.”

People who submitted their pets for the project were asked to donate at least $25 to a local animal rescue, along with the receipt of their donation. “I love being a part of the fabric of this community,” said Ali. “My intention was to celebrate the companion animals in our community in an engaging and fun way. Each animal featured is loved and special. It was fun to collage all the drawings together in a way that they sort of coexist with each other. One family submitted two pets. One of the dogs was wearing sunglasses, so I depicted the other dog reflected in the sunglasses. And two cool cats also joined the party!”
