It’s been teased for months and we’re so excited to confirm that The Cranford Bookstore will be coming to Downtown Cranford later this year! The Cranford Bookstore will be located at 1 South Avenue East (formerly Supercuts) and is owned by Cranford residents Kate Lydon and Lauren King. Kate was one of the founders of Asbury Park Book Cooperative and Lauren previously worked as an English teacher. Kate and Lauren created The Cranford Bookstore due to their shared love of literature and have done a number of pop-ups and local deliveries since starting their business. Kate and Lauren’s ultimate goal was to open a location downtown and their search eventually led to the space on South Avenue.
“We love our location,” said Lauren. “It’s surrounded by some terrific businesses and offers parking nearby. We want Cranford Bookstore to be more than a place where people can pick up the hottest bestseller. We’re striving to be a community space where people can gather and plan to partner with schools and local book clubs. Cranford Bookstore offers a personal touch that you won’t find on Amazon. We love to talk about books and share community recommendations from readers of all ages.”
Lauren and Kate will be hard at work in their space this summer and plan to open in September. You can follow their progress and order books while they prepare to open at https://thecranfordbookstore.com/. We can’t wait to welcome The Cranford Bookstore to Downtown Cranford this fall!
