Today, Cranford Theater reopened its doors, looking better and brighter than ever before! When the Cranford Theater needed to close earlier this year, owner Doreen Sayegh never considered that the Theater would shut its doors for good. “I knew something good would come out of this,” said Doreen. With the support of her family and the Cranford community, Doreen undertook a complete renovation of the Theater. Theatergoers will find a Theater that not only has new seats and carpet, but that also can now accommodate a variety of events. Doreen is hoping to continue to expand the Theater’s offerings of concerts, talkbacks, film festivals, and more.

“The holidays are my favorite time at the Theater,” said Doreen, with her young daughter Natalia at her side. “The Theater becomes a gathering place for friends and family this time of year.” Cranford Theater turns 99 years old on November 29th and Doreen was determined to be open by that day. “The Theater has always been open on its birthday and I wasn’t going to miss this year.”

DMC Board Chair Kristen Mider praised Doreen for her bravery and perseverance over the past few months. “Doreen has put in so much hard work the past few months to make sure the Theater would reopen,” said Kristen. “It’s only right that at the time of year we give thanks, Cranford Theater, the heart of Cranford, is open again.”

Cranford Theater is now open and ready for the public. So grab your family and friends and make your way over to Cranford Theater. Let’s welcome them back in the way that only Cranford can!
