Though she’s well known in the community as a local realtor, Shannon DellaFortuna wanted to have a space where she could meet with clients and be a part of the Downtown Cranford community. Shannon’s dream became a reality yesterday with the official opening of Shannon DellaFortuna Homes at 19 Alden Street! Yesterday’s ribbon cutting was attended by friends, family, co-workers, Downtown Cranford Director Caren Demyen, Mayor Kathleen Miller Prunty, and DMC Board members.
Shannon said she often walks people through different options when it comes to their living situations, including home renovations, selling, and buying. “I wanted a space where people felt comfortable meeting with me and this fit the bill,” said Shannon. “The location also allows me to meet families when they’re downtown and be a part of Downtown Cranford events.” Shannon DellaFortuna Homes is open 10-2 Tuesday through Friday for walk-ins, and people can also make appointments with Shannon.
Shannon and her family are big supporters of Cranford businesses. Vanilla Bean Creamery, Cranford Theater, and Periwinkle’s were just a few of the places that her children named as their favorites. “We make an effort to visit new Cranford businesses as well,” said Shannon. “I also love to give Downtown Cranford gift cards for any occasion.”
The path to opening a business in Cranford involved a lot of hard work and dedication on Shannon’s behalf. Her children beamed when asked about their mother’s success, and recognized how much hard work she put in to succeed at her job. “My oldest is headed off to college in the fall,” said Shannon. “He really helped me behind the scenes in getting this space ready, and in the future I’d love to welcome my children into this business.”
