Mrs. New Jersey Visits Downtown Cranford

Mrs. New Jersey, Kristina Henderson, is making a point of visiting all 21 counties in NJ and today Cranford was lucky enough to host her! Mrs. Henderson ran on a platform of empowering female business owners, and made sure to stop in two successful female-owned Cranford businesses. Christina first stopped at The Mane Event Hair Salon Cranford and met with owner Penny Andrews and her staff. Penny spoke about the challenges of the past year, and how she would come into the shop and just talk with clients on the phone. When The Mane Event was able to reopen its doors, its customers were so grateful and Penny and her staff were so happy to have them back.

Owner Cori Ardente of Anthem style & gift and Max & Luna also spoke to Mrs. Henderson about the challenges of owning a business during the pandemic. Cori pivoted by offering curbside pickup and local delivery when customers found themselves stuck at home. Though the past year has been difficult, Cori said it’s just reinforced why she chose to open in Cranford. “The Cranford community came together to support its local businesses in a huge way,” said Cori.
