Norma’s Beauty Salon Opens In Downtown Cranford

Hair styling runs in the Rodriguez family. When Douglas Rodriguez’s mother arrived in the United States in 1996, she began working in hair salons. Douglas’s wife, Norma, worked with his mother and in 2007, Douglas and Norma opened Norma’s Beauty Salon, in Plainfield. Douglas and Norma were familiar with Cranford and wanted to be a part of the town. When they saw the space at 41 North Avenue East was available, they jumped at the chance to expand their business.

Norma’s Beauty Salon services men, women, and children and is open 7 days a week. The salon specializes in highlights and extensions and also offers coloring, waxing, makeup, facials, and more. Douglas and Norma gave back to the community on the very first day their salon opened, offering free haircuts to the first 50 customers. Their daughter Evelyn also works with them as a stylist at both locations. “This is really a family business,” said Evelyn. “I originally resisted following in my parent’s footsteps, but then I realized how much I enjoyed it. I love making people feel beautiful and seeing them smile. Our new location is a great opportunity for me to build and grow with the business.”

Walk-ins are welcome at the salon, which is open Monday-Friday 9AM-7PM and Saturday-Sunday 9AM-4PM. For more information, you can visit their website, https://www.normasbeautysalon.com/, and follow Norma’s Salon on social media. Welcome to Douglas, Norma, Evelyn, and the rest of the staff at Norma’s Salon!
