Another new restaurant has opened its doors in Cranford and we’re so excited to welcome them to town! Red Crab – Juicy Seafood is now open for business at 10 Walnut Avenue, serving up a variety of seafood dishes, in addition to soups, salads, pastas, and more. The restaurant originally started in Florida and now has additional locations throughout the United States. The Cranford location of Red Crab is owned by Tina Zhao and Wenxing Lin, and is managed by Gil McNair-Joseph.
Red Crab is best known for its seafood combos, where customers can choose ½ lb. of seafood (choices include Shrimp, Snow Crab legs, Mussels, Scallops, and more), as well as a sauce and spice level, all of which is served with corn and potato. Manager Gil said that his favorite combo is crab legs and shrimp, tossed in garlic butter sauce and served extra spicy. Red Crab’s menu has a number of seafood favorites including oysters, Crab Bisque, Fried Shrimp, Po Boys, and more.
The restaurant is open 7 days a week and has specials Monday through Thursday, as well as everyday specials. Gil had previously worked at other restaurants in the area but he visited Red Crab’s Newark location and loved the feel of it. “I really believe that Red Crab’s vibe sets it apart,” said Gil. “It’s just very welcoming and laidback, plus extremely family friendly.”
